A spontaneous afternoon experimenting with Lino prints turned into a mini project. Zara continues her exploration of organic forms, largely inspired by nature, and how these are mirrored by the human body. These mixed media pieces (ink, watercolour, oil pastel) are inspired by the movement of the sea, dancers, and floral shapes.
‘I wanted to implement the style that I have been cultivating when depicting figures into the lino, whilst also capturing essences of the natural forms that so heavily inspire me’.
Zara is hoping to further experiment with Lino for her latest project ‘It’s What’s On The Inside That Counts’ as she delves further into depicting the intricacies within our bodies.
Lino Printing
Swim Series
For her ‘Swim’ Lino series, Zara focuses on the ebbing, flowing, rippling, and lapping movement of water, and the forms our bodies take when swimming.
‘I have always been fascinated with movement and how different materials lend themselves to portraying this’.
